The RTS5209 is a PCI Express revision1.1 compliant card reader controller that integrates PCI Express Transceiver, regulators and memory card access units into a single chip. The RTS5209 can support Memory Stick TM, Memory Stick PRO TM, Memory Stick PRO-HG Duo TM, Memory Stick XC TM, Secure Digital TM, Secure Digital High Capacity TM (SDHC), Secure Digital eXtended Capacity TM (SDXC), Multi-Media Card TM and xD-Picture Card TM. The RTS5209 provides internal OTP for SSVID (2bytes) and SSID (2bytes) by Realtek writing utility. The RTS5209 also provides 2 options for LUN setting. You can choose 2-LUN setting for SDXC/MMC and MSXC cards separately or only 1-LUN for SDXC/MMC/MSXC/xD-Picture cards by the driver or internal OTP. A serial EEPROM interface is provided here that could store the desired pre-configuration information. The RTS5209 integrates 3.3V-to-1.8V and 3.3V-to-1.2V regulators and MOSFET for card power switch, and could dramatically reduce the system BOM cost.
